I’m not exactly sure to what this is, but it was sitting on the black and white printer at my work.\u00a0 At first, I lol’d because being an equal opportunist when it comes to finding amusement in racial stereotypes, I found amusement in this crude adaptation of a chink.<\/span><\/p>\n

But then it dawned on me that this was sitting on the printer, and that a user in the office had sent it to the printer, meaning someone in the office found some humor in this kind of tasteless art.\u00a0 The thing is that there aren’t a whole lot of people in my office, and only one other actual Asian person, whom I’m pretty certain they don’t have access to this printer, since they’re on the other side of the office.\u00a0 But the thing is, although I find it amusing, I realize that the wrong person at the wrong time seeing this would trigger all sorts of shitstorm involving racism and other negative connotations.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t know the other side to this.\u00a0 For all I know, this could very well be a component into one of the many projects going on at the moment.\u00a0 Maybe some kid who doesn’t understand that this could be construed as racist drew it or something, who really knows?<\/span><\/p>\n

Regardless of the story, I simply didn’t feel comfortable leaving this behind, and risk the chance that the wrong eyes would get a glimpse of it.\u00a0 If the user who printed it didn’t take the time to pick it up, it clearly isn’t something that’s pressing.\u00a0 Ultimately, I threw it into the recycling bin, but it certainly did get the brain thinking on a mundane day like today.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
