{"id":34986,"date":"2013-01-10T19:07:27","date_gmt":"2013-01-10T23:07:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=34986"},"modified":"2020-07-04T19:07:42","modified_gmt":"2020-07-04T23:07:42","slug":"the-most-obvious-of-i-give-up-on-life-cars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=34986","title":{"rendered":"The most obvious of \u201cI give up on life\u201d cars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34987\" src=\"http:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/turdonwheels.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"449\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"http:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/turdonwheels.jpg 449w, http:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/turdonwheels-300x202.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 449px) 100vw, 449px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">It\u2019s funny whenever I think about cars that belong in the I give up on life category, Saturns never really crossed my mind.\u00a0 But in a way, it\u2019s fittingly appropriate in several ways; one, because Saturns are the most forgettable car manufacturer in history, and two, Saturn as a car company is dead, and has been dead for going on three years now.\u00a0 Unfortunately, three years isn\u2019t enough time to wipe them from existence as their turds on wheels are still being capably driven on roads across America as we speak.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Saturn was essentially a joint venture between General Motors and Rubbermaid (not actually true) that put out mediocre plastic (mostly) cars that were cheap to buy, cheaper to maintain, and supposedly cheap to repair when necessary (often, being a GM), in exchange for your dignity (factually accurate).\u00a0 But after twenty years of sucking souls, Liu Kang and the automotive industry had enough of Saturn Tsung\u2019s soul-sucking tendencies and putting an end to the Saturn brand, hopefully for good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">It should be no more obvious how dead Saturn was when for the first ten years of their existence, none of their cars actually had any names, but some alphanumeric code names.\u00a0 You know, just so they can possibly be misconstrued with like a BMW or something:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201c<em>Oh, you drive a \u201898 323i?\u00a0 Yeah\u2026 I drive a \u201995 SC1.\u00a0 Excellent fuel economy on top of everything else\u2026<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">But then the second decade of their miserable existence, they started naming all their cars as if they pulled it out of a Kevin J.
