Source<\/a>: 78 percent of former NFL players are broke.<\/span><\/p>\n The sky is also blue, water is also wet, and human beings need air to breathe.<\/span><\/p>\n Missing somewhere, is the part about this story where we, the plebeians of the world, are supposed to care.<\/span><\/p>\n 78 percent of former NFL players may be broke and bankrupt now, but for that one to ten or more years that they\u2019re actively playing professional football, they will have seen more money than a vast majority of the human race will ever see in their lifetimes, quite likely multiplied by many times.\u00a0 This goes for any professional athlete who plays their sport at the major level.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I cannot imagine a person in the world that gives two shits or one iota for professional athletes who seamlessly transition into their new careers of professional fuck-ups.<\/span><\/p>\n Sports Illustrated<\/em>\u00a0or any other sporting journalism can wax it in every way, shape or form they can think of, but the bottom line is that these professional athletes are all stupid, reckless, and have zero intellectual capacity when it comes to basic money management.<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s like give a toddler a twenty, and you know it\u2019s gone in five minutes on candy and toys.\u00a0 Give a 21-year old a multi-million dollar contract, and it\u2019s gone on cars, homes and well, toys.\u00a0 Shit they don\u2019t really need, and will be due taxes, maintenance and upkeep.<\/span><\/p>\n The ironic thing about professional athletes needing to be taught how to not be retarded is the fact that there are people whose occupation is to educate \u201cadults\u201d them on it.\u00a0 And to think I sometimes am amazed that in my line of work, we\u2019ve occasionally had to teach people multiplication tables.<\/span><\/p>\n As far as I\u2019m concerned, whenever I hear of a former professional athlete going broke, all I can really think is either \u201cgood\u201d or \u201cwho cares?\u201d\u00a0 Welcome back to reality, and have some weak meaningless condolences for your idiocy at handling your previous life on a silver platter.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Source: 78 percent of former NFL players are broke.
