In spite of the self-imposed painstaking efforts I\u2019ve undertaken throughout the last three years in doing\u00a0League of Legends<\/em>\u00a0costumes at Dragon*Cons, I\u2019ve never really gone to a D*C in the past with any sort of objective or goal in mind.\u00a0 Usually, everything is up in the air, and all I really want is to walk around, take a bunch of pictures, and for one day, get in my own costume, before devolving into a night of drinking and partying and hanging out on all the nights.\u00a0 I don\u2019t care about guests, I don\u2019t care about celebrities, panels, exhibitors or just about everything that is boasted being present at the convention.<\/span><\/p>\n

As I\u2019m sure I\u2019ve said before, it really makes me wonder why I\u2019m so eager and willing to drop exorbitant amounts of money on lodging, food, booze and parking, for what\u2019s essentially a weekend of hanging out.<\/span><\/p>\n

Probably, because it\u2019s a weekend of hanging out, and I really enjoy simply hanging out.\u00a0 The grandest stage for what\u2019s essentially one giant convenient excuse to hang out with friends and acquaintances from near and far.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Anyway, I would like to change such a modus operandi this year, and not necessarily in a dramatic, table-flipping manner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simply put, most D*Cs are fun, and there\u2019s often times great stories or memories that are had at them.\u00a0 They\u2019re all great and all, but sometimes I look back, and wish that there were more photographic evidence of such occasions, which is a vaguely generic way of saying \u201cI\u2019m narcissistic and I wish there were more pictures of myself from ___ event.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The people I see, the people I meet, and the people I hang out with, are the reasons why I go to, and often enjoy D*C.\u00a0 When it comes to their encounters with me, I hope that the feeling is somewhat mutual, but the fact of the matter is that I\u2019d simply put, like more pictures of myself with awesome people, at a fun occasion.<\/span><\/p>\n

So what it boils down to is that I\u00a0have<\/em>\u00a0an objective going into this D*C weekend:\u00a0I want to take selfies with people<\/strong>.\u00a0 There\u2019s no rules or conditions or anything like that, I would just like to have more pictures with people I enjoy the company of.<\/span><\/p>\n

When I swapped cameras a little while ago, a surprisingly important want for the new camera was a rotating viewfinder AKA\u00a0be able to frame your own selfies more accurately<\/em>.\u00a0 And my new camera includes such a feature.<\/span><\/p>\n

Which makes it perfect for aiding in this objective.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s hoping for another fun year of tons of cool costumes, pictures, good company, good stories, drunken debauchery, and an overall awesome time.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
