Game-changer<\/a>: Atlanta Braves change start time for weeknight games at Great White Flight Park from 7:10 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. intending to help alleviate traffic<\/span><\/p>\n

This is hilarious.\u00a0 The Braves actually think twenty whole minutes is going to make a modicum of difference when it comes to traffic in and surrounding the I-75\/I-285 intersection.\u00a0 The top end of I-285 is already the worst traffic in the city on a regular basis, and maybe starting the game at 8:30 would be when traffic actually might die down, but there\u2019s no guarantee then either.<\/span><\/p>\n

There was this one time I was working in Sandy Springs.\u00a0 I dawdled into later hours on a regular basis, so that I could milk extra hours, and I was interested in a girl that worked there.\u00a0 But I would leave the office routinely around 7:00-7:30, because I already knew how bad the traffic was around 5-6 p.m. after work, and I figured it wouldn\u2019t be as bad then.<\/span><\/p>\n

Combining the asinine metered on-ramps and the fact that I-285 is I-285, it would take me over 20 minutes just to get on the highway, much less crawl the six miles from entering the highway to get to where ScumTrust Park is going to exist.<\/span><\/p>\n

Changing the start of game times by twenty minutes accomplishes absolutely squat.\u00a0 If anything at all, it\u2019s more of a detriment to traffic, because it\u2019s going to unlock a whole other segment of people who now think 7:30 games are doable, as opposed to a 7:10 start.\u00a0 They\u2019ll hit the road at like 6:30, thinking an hour \u201cshould be enough\u201d and end up contributing to the gridlock that\u2019s going to plague the interstates worse than it already is.\u00a0 At least a 7:00 start creates just enough doubt for people to either not go and save themselves the trouble, or perhaps cut out of work, or get on the road before 5:00 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chalk another point into the projected list of failures that ScumTrust Park is looking to be.\u00a0 I already posted about the defeat of Tim Lee, but I didn\u2019t know just how emphatically he was defeated<\/a>; to the tune of 64-36%\u00a0 This, boys and girls, is called a blowout.\u00a0 Looks like Cobb residents actually can be pushed to a point, and spending all their money without their consent appears to have done the trick.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
