Mako
& Sayuki, Usui's Fastest Pair. Usui's angels are unstoppable
on its dangerous twisting and cornering mountain path. Their
Blue Sil-Eighty is famous among street racers... But you already
know that much, what about the characters themselves?

Mako
is the driver of the blue Sil-Eighty. She is very skilled, and
combined with the navigation of Sayuki she only has to concentrate
on driving, thus making her very precise and an even better
driver. Car difficulties introduce her to Iketani, and it's
love at first sight. Mako can be a timid and reserved girl,
but behind the wheel of her Sil-Eighty, she becomes a completely
different person. Aggressive, cunning and with a sharp tongue
(Sayuki weighs 47kg, not 49!;) Mako fears no road,
no corner, and especially no opponent.
Sayuki
is the navigator of the pair. Her keen navigation and observation
skills is what sharpens Mako's driving edge, making them
combined Usui's Fastest. She instructs Mako on when to drift,
grip, and of oncoming cars and corners, etc, etc. Sayuki is
an outgoing and forward girl, and you might even say aggressive.
;)
As Takeshi Nakazato of the Night Kids might say about
her: "...pururu..."
What's their story? After Iketani assists Mako with some
car troubles (a hatchback, NOT the Sil-Eighty), she gives him
her phone number, and Iketani is smitten. During their
first date, Iketani says more than he can back up ("Yes,
I can drift.";) and impresses Mako, whom he doesn't know
is a skilled street-racer herself.
Realizing
that he would eventually have to back his words, Iketani desperately
goes off into Usui's mountain passes to practice. After his
S13 Silvia spins out of control, he narrowly misses colliding
with a Blue Sil-Eighty which happens to stop just in time. After
that embarassing encounter, Iketani is further shocked
as he sees Mako's just-as-petrified face sitting in the driver's
seat as they drive apart...
To
cut to the chase, an "I'll do it because I love her"
Iketani grants Mako her final summer wish by arranging
a race between her and Takumi at Mako's hometown, Usui.
Mako
& Sayuki, the Angels of Usui go up against Akina's Undefeated
Hachi-Roku, in Sudden Deathmatch rules, where one car must overtake
or leave their opponent... races go on as long as needed.
