If I told you that about this baseball player named \u201cHank Conger,\u201d most people would get the image in their head of a white guy.\u00a0 Probably a sleepy-eyed Texan, closely associated with Hank Hill, from\u00a0King of the Hill<\/em>, since come on, just how many people out there really are named \u201cHank\u201d anyway?<\/span><\/p>\n Well, pictured above is the real Hank Conger, a catcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Orange County, California.\u00a0 Not what you were expecting, huh?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Don\u2019t worry, it happened to me too.\u00a0 When I first got a glimpse of this guy while the Braves were out in Anaheim earlier this year, I thought \u201cwho knew the Angels had a\u00a0Korean<\/em>\u00a0guy on their team?\u201d\u00a0 And then he comes up for his first at-bat, and he\u2019s announced to the plate as \u201cHank Conger.\u201d\u00a0 WTF?<\/span><\/p>\n Hank Conger is no doubt Korean, and like me, was born in the United States, Washington state, to be precise.\u00a0 Through hearsay, I learned that the name change was for \u201csimplicity,\u201d and naturally, \u201cHank Conger\u201d isn\u2019t his real name.\u00a0 But still, a Korean guy named Hank?\u00a0 Seriously?<\/span><\/p>\n Fuck me, though.\u00a0 Thanks to Hank Conger, I can\u2019t really be the first Korean guy to actually legally name his son of appropriate Korean-descent \u201cHank,\u201d now.\u00a0 I had this shit all planned perfectly, because I wanted to name my first born \u201cHank,\u201d and then some Korean name that starts with \u201cH\u201d, followed by \u201cHong.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n That\u2019s right, his initials would most certainly have been\u00a0HHH<\/strong>, and he could dominate all his friends throughout life who would learn to fear\u00a0Triple H<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" If I told you that about this baseball player named \u201cHank Conger,\u201d most people would get the image in their head of a white guy.\u00a0 Probably a sleepy-eyed Texan, closely associated with Hank Hill, from\u00a0King of the Hill, since come on, just how many people out there really are named \u201cHank\u201d anyway?
