I don\u2019t really mean to vent so much about my job so much lately, but lately, there really hasn\u2019t been that much going on otherwise in my life, other than eating, LoL-ing or going to the gym.\u00a0 Routine is good, sometimes.<\/span><\/p>\n

But today, I don\u2019t really have much else to do.\u00a0 Long story short, I have a project that\u2019s been going on since November, which is a prime example of what happens when a project manager lets the client walk all over them, and subsequently the creative departments that actually makes the tangible shit happen.\u00a0 If this were a real creative agency or company, the project would be complete by now because in those types of business models, revisions cost money.\u00a0 The more revisions, the more money.\u00a0 The more money involved, the less the client wants to spend, meaning more efficiency on their end, and less tedious work on our end.<\/span><\/p>\n

I guess it\u2019s not really a shortened story, but to cut to the chase, I\u2019m efficient, and ready for this project to be out the door, and I have literally done all of my part in order to put this project on the doorstep of the printing process.\u00a0 Literally, this project is all but done aside from the printing.\u00a0 But the project manager feels that there has been a disconnect in the process, which there was, which I rectified the issues that came up as a result of it, and wants to have a discussion with all the cooks in the kitchen.\u00a0 But one of the cooks isn\u2019t in the office today, so this discussion is scheduled for when this cook returns.\u00a0 I explain that there really isn\u2019t a need for any discussion, and I\u2019m essentially dismissively told that yes, there is.\u00a0 O-kay.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, despite the fact that this long-running project is done, ready to print, and ready to complete, I\u2019m sitting on my ass today doing jack shit.\u00a0 I was hoping that today would be better than the day prior, but I\u2019m coming to the conclusion that I really don\u2019t like working with this particular project manager, and is kind of the root of my recent angst.\u00a0 They are a bit behind the curve in today\u2019s industry, resting on the crutches of tenure and the fact that this is a government position, and so willing to put off until tomorrow what could easily be completed today, just with a modicum of effort.<\/span><\/p>\n

I know I\u2019ve put things off before, but often times, it involves something so tedious and obnoxious to accomplish, that I simply want to put it off until I absolutely have to do it.\u00a0 This was a situation where everything,\u00a0everything<\/em>\u00a0was done, except for even a verbal confirmation that this project is ready to move forward, and I couldn\u2019t even get that, because I happen to work with someone so behind the times and incapable of comprehending simple explanations of how simple things are, wants to wait and hold everything up for her own sake.\u00a0 I\u2019m really trying not to have such negative feelings towards my job, considering it has barely been a full month since I\u2019ve been \u201cofficial,\u201d but let\u2019s just say I look forward to when this particular employee decides that it\u2019s their time to retire.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
