I saw this while I was walking to the North Avenue MARTA station on my way out of town this weekend.\u00a0 My first thought was “there’s got to be an Apple store that I was unaware of, and these people are probably all camping in line with hopes to be the first people to get the iPad 3.”<\/span><\/p>\n

And then I noticed the police tape around the groups of tents.\u00a0 And on a sunny day, as well as the tents that were vented open, one would have to be blind to not notice that pretty much all the tents were empty, devoid of any occupants at all.\u00a0 But the thing is, I still had no idea what these tents were here for in the first place.<\/span><\/p>\n

I asked a security guard inside the station what the tents were about, and he gruffly responded “protesting.”\u00a0 Upon clarification of what these empty tents were protesting, I learned “corporate greed.”\u00a0 Oh, so\u00a0this<\/em>\u00a0is Occupy Atlanta?<\/span><\/p>\n

Now I know the original spot for Occupy Atlanta was at Woodruff Park, but they were all forcibly evicted already, but I was unaware that they decided to move their operations to right in front of the AT&T building.\u00a0 Why they’re not in front of Bank of America, or somewhere in the actual downtown financial section of Atlanta, is completely beyond me.\u00a0 Either way, clearly not all occupants got the message, or the so-called protesters probably realized the futility and how full of shit they were in the first place to be demonstrating, because aside from the tents, it’s apparent that almost nobody was there, “protesting.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Whereas in New York, where the occupants moved en masse to a different location after getting kicked out of Zucotti Park, leave it to Atlanta to fail to follow suite and after their own eviction, simply throwing in the towel.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the kids would so call it, #OccupyAtlantaFail<\/span><\/p>\n
