I can\u2019t say I eat a whole lot of Kraft foods.\u00a0 It\u2019s hard to tell, because apparently Kraft ultimately owns a shit ton of other companies, that I was mostly unaware that were owned by Kraft.\u00a0 That being said, I read this story recently about how\u00a0Kraft is rebranding their snack division<\/a>, and will be soon be called\u00a0Mondalez International.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The flaw with the statement is that Kraft Foods used the term \u201csnack division.\u201d\u00a0 Sure, you could technically snack on anything be it an Oscar Meyer hot dog, a glass of Tang, to Kraft cheese single.\u00a0 But in terms of the traditional snacks of chips, fruit snacks, cookies and crackers, Kraft already has a name for their snack division \u2013 Nabisco.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the fact that Kraft has to own several other small companies and brands that also manufacture some negligible, unknown snacks, no one existing brand is known as a snack manufacturer as well as Nabisco.\u00a0 Oreos, Triscuits, Fig Newtons, Nutter Butters, Wheat Thins, Chips Ahoy, the list goes on.\u00a0 Nabisco makes a lot of reputable snack products. \u00a0But for whatever reason, Kraft has decided to essentially kill off the entire Nabisco name and brand, and replace it with Mondalez International.<\/span><\/p>\n

Obviously, this has no impact on my life, other than the fact that I\u2019m sure they\u2019ll change all product packaging eventually to integrate the new name and branding, that I\u2019m sure I\u2019ll be critical towards at the store, but I guess I don\u2019t really get it.\u00a0 Nabisco is a pretty predominant name in the world of junk food, and it doesn\u2019t really make sense to me why they\u2019d change it.\u00a0 Sure, the world is attempting to be healthier in some sub-sections, with people trying to eat more carrot sticks than Chips Ahoy, but there are still tons of people out there whom when they want Oreos, they\u2019re going to get their fucking Oreos, whether the name is Nabisco or Mondalez.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hm.\u00a0 I guess I answered my own question there \u2013 frankly, nobody ever conversationally used the proper brand name in front of the product name, so I guess that\u2019s not going to change.\u00a0 I\u2019ll crave Oreos and Triscuits, not Mondalez Oreos or Mondalez Triscuits.\u00a0 Well, whatever; I\u2019m reluctant to accept change sometimes.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
