I like to think of myself as a pretty easy going kind of person.\u00a0 I may complain and voice my disdain at Dragon-Con from time to time, but I\u2019m well aware of the fact that a lot of things are out of my control; I just instinctively bitch sometimes.\u00a0 Like big-ass crowds, common people smelling all rank and BO-ey, the football bros that come and troll the place; all that shit is completely uncontrollable, and there\u2019s nothing that can be done about it.\u00a0 I accept that.<\/span><\/p>\n But if there\u2019s one thing that agitates the shit out of me, are diva costumers.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Miranda Lawson is a bitch.\u00a0 No really, that\u2019s her character.\u00a0 She\u2019s a bitch that is hung up on her own perfect appearance, biotic powers, and genetic superiority, and takes it out on everyone else.\u00a0 But it doesn\u2019t change the fact that she\u2019s still really hot, being portrayed by Yvonne Strahovski and all, and that the horndog BIoware creators saw fit to put her in a futuristic sausage skin as a character design.<\/span><\/p>\n After I beat\u00a0Mass Effect 2<\/em>, I looked forward to the fact that ME2 was popular, and popular things lead to people dressing up at Dragon-Con.\u00a0 And being the red-blooded male I am, I really really hoped to see some hot women dressed up as Miranda Lawson.\u00a0 Didn\u2019t happen.\u00a0 Instead, it was just a bunch of mediocre Shepard armors, Tali\u2019Zorah vas Bennigans and people carrying ME guns.\u00a0 Fortunately, the next year is when Jen bust out her perfect Tali, Harrison bust out his N7 armor, and Lindze showed up as a finally good Miranda Lawson.\u00a0 As a fan of the game, I was pleased to see such good strong costume executions.<\/span><\/p>\n I asked the first Miranda costumer I saw this past weekend if I could take her picture.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNo, I have to go to the Bioware panel.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019ll just take a second?\u201d\u00a0<\/em>It would have.\u00a0 I\u2019m not a demanding photographer.\u00a0 Just fucking be still.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSorry, can\u2019t,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and she walks off.<\/span><\/p>\n Despite the fact that I sometimes think I should spend more time with the people I photograph, I typically just take a single picture, that takes all of four seconds to do, if the subject stops and poses.\u00a0 If I really like you, then I\u2019ll ask to take another one, or try another pose or angle.\u00a0 You might notice in my pictures, how little that actually happens.<\/span><\/p>\n But the Miranda who gets into costume for the sake of seeking attention blows me off to go to a panel she\u2019s already late for, and if you\u2019ve ever been to a Dragon-Con, if you\u2019re late for a panel you want to go to, you may as well not go, because you\u2019re not getting in.\u00a0 I am not pleased with this outcome, and no longer wish to photograph this Miranda if I saw her again (which I did, and I kept the lens cap on).<\/span><\/p>\n I see another Miranda costumer during the scattering of other pretentious Mass Effect costumed snobs.\u00a0 She\u2019s wearing the alternate black outfit, and standing by herself at a railing.\u00a0 I ask if I can take her photograph:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cYeah, just a second<\/em>,\u201d and pulls out her cell phone and begins to type something into it.<\/span><\/p>\n Ten seconds later, I\u2019m still waiting, feeling lamer by each passing second and I realize that I am no longer interested in photographing this girl any longer.\u00a0 Seriously, you decide to type an essay prompted by my request to take your picture?\u00a0 Before I can feel any more lamer for actually waiting for this girl, I turn my back and walk; not worth it.<\/span><\/p>\n At this point, I\u2019m thinking to myself that I\u2019ve been blown off by two Miranda Lawson costumers in the span of an hour.\u00a0 I know the character itself is a pretentious snobby bitch, but I can\u2019t say I expected the Miranda Lawson costumers to follow the role so succinctly.<\/span><\/p>\n You\u2019re in a fucking costume at fucking Dragon-Con.\u00a0 Dressing as an attractive character at a nerdy sci-fi\/fantasy convention is trying to stand out, on\u00a0Shit Mountain<\/strong>.\u00a0 There is no pride of being alpha female at Dragon-Con.\u00a0 Where this pretentious self-importance and diva behavior comes from is completely beyond me.<\/span><\/p>\n Yes, I am \u201cu mad<\/em>\u201d because I was blown off, because it\u2019s not like I was propositioning them for sex.\u00a0 I was\u00a0asking<\/em>\u00a0to stroke\u00a0their<\/em>ego and take their pictures, so they could feel like\u00a0America\u2019s Top Model<\/em>\u00a0rejects for four seconds, and they ignored me like I was fucking nothing.\u00a0 And I find it infuriating.<\/span><\/p>\n Get over yourselves, girls.\u00a0 Neither of them were the best Mirandas, and I could critique the hell out of their costumes if I bothered to re-attempt photographs, but frankly, neither of them were worth bothering; after blowing me off, they became as ugly as Jessica Simpson\u2019s fat ass to me.<\/span><\/p>\n You know what I really hope?\u00a0 When these egosaurses inevitably go ego surfing for cosplay pictures of themselves on Google, and finding the brog.\u00a0 Typing \u201cDragon-Con\u201d and \u201cMiranda Lawson\u201d and \u201ccostume\u201d so many times, I\u2019m liable to show up in Google results when these egosauruses come scrubbing the web looking for pictures of themselves.\u00a0 It worked for my Mafia Graves gun.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I like to think of myself as a pretty easy going kind of person.\u00a0 I may complain and voice my disdain at Dragon-Con from time to time, but I\u2019m well aware of the fact that a lot of things are out of my control;
