{"id":38027,"date":"2013-12-13T22:05:13","date_gmt":"2013-12-14T02:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=38027"},"modified":"2020-07-09T22:05:25","modified_gmt":"2020-07-10T02:05:25","slug":"chalk-this-up-in-the-no-shit-column","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=38027","title":{"rendered":"Chalk this up in the \u201cno shit\u201d column"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tpc7oE3mT_c?controls=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsatlanta.com\/story\/24199923\/poll-most-americans-dont-want-cell-phone-calls-on-planes\">POLL: Most Americans don\u2019t want cell phone calls on planes<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Most Americans also don\u2019t want increased gas prices and higher taxes.\u00a0 The sky is also blue, and human beings breathe air to live.\u00a0 Wet water.\u00a0 Hot fire.\u00a0 <em>Ninja Assassin<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Yeah no shit most Americans don\u2019t want people to be able to make phone calls while in flight.\u00a0 The people that aren\u2019t \u201cmost\u201d <em>ARE<\/em> the inconsiderate motherfuckers who want to be able to make obnoxious phone calls while in flight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Imagine sitting on a flight, in first class, and Sharkeisha is blabbing away to her homegirl back in Compton, right behind the curtain in seat 11C.\u00a0 Or you\u2019re trying to read a book on your Kindle, but the Vietnamese lady next to you is on the phone with her girlfriend (sorry, Vietnamese is THE most obnoxious language to hear being spoken), and your mp3 player can\u2019t possibly get any louder to drown it out.\u00a0 And then there\u2019s Captain Corporate who decides that the entire flight seems like a great opportunity to conduct a business meeting over the phone, and you\u2019re stuck being able to hear his entire arsenal of corporate buzzwords and bullshit clich\u00e9s to his subordinates who are all no doubt sitting at their office phones with the mute button engaged, and barely trying to pay attention to make sure that none of them are addressed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">No matter how much self-importance pilots and airline workers put onto themselves, when the day is over, the flight industry is still another form of public transportation.\u00a0 They\u2019re essentially airborne, expensive buses with wings that are more time-efficient at a substantially higher cost from getting from point A to point B.\u00a0 And anyone who\u2019s ever ridden any other forms of public transportation, be it an actual bus, or a train, is already privy to the awful, obnoxious behavior of people that are allowed to use make calls on their cell phones while riding them.\u00a0 When we\u2019re paying out the nose to ride an airplane, why the fuck do we want to be exposed to shitty bus or train behavior?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">The bottom line is that I hope to hell that the FAA or the FCC or whatever agency is in charge of this decision makes the right one, and continues to prevent the capability of making cell phone calls aboard a flight.\u00a0 People are often obnoxious enough on flights by being either too fat, neglectful parents, and\/or oblivious to the personal space of others, that things don\u2019t need to be made even worse by allowing them to blab away on their cell phones.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>POLL: Most Americans don\u2019t want cell phone calls on planes Most Americans also don\u2019t want increased gas prices and higher taxes.\u00a0 The sky is also blue, and human beings breathe air to live.\u00a0 Wet water.\u00a0 Hot fire.\u00a0 Ninja Assassin.
