Quite often, I\u2019ll develop these mock crushes on the most random girls seen in media.\u00a0 And more often, I\u2019ll ride them ironically, because I know it makes people roll their eyes, or there\u2019s a sense of amusement in it for me.\u00a0 Like for example Taylor Swift; she\u2019s a beautiful young woman, who\u2019s undoubtedly easy on the eyes, and I like to pretend like I enjoy her poppy music, because it makes every girl I know roll their eyes and chastise me for being such a basic guy.<\/span><\/p>\n But I don\u2019t really care about Taylor Swift.\u00a0 Or the cute brunette on the AT&T commercials that plays \u201cLily.\u201d\u00a0 Or Autumn Reeser, Alexandra Breckenridge or Emma Roberts.\u00a0 Sure, they\u2019re all aesthetically pleasing to me, but when the day is over, I don\u2019t really care about any of them.<\/span><\/p>\n Jessica Lange, on the other hand, she is the actress that I\u00a0love<\/em>\u00a0more than anything.\u00a0 Like seriously, it\u2019s hard to describe the admiration and love for her I have as a performer.\u00a0 I\u2019m enjoying\u00a0American Horror Story: Freak Show<\/em>\u00a0as much as any other AHS fan should, but there was actually a moment in the earlier episodes where I voiced my displeasure that there frankly wasn\u2019t enough Jessica Lange being shown to that point.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Obviously, the success of the show is heavily carried by Lange\u2019s performances, where she\u2019s almost always, whether aligned good or evil or in-between.\u00a0 I\u2019ve pretty much solely referred to Jessica Lange as the franchise\u2019s \u201ccarry,\u201d based on such an assessment.\u00a0 Personally, I like her the best when she\u2019s allowed to be sharp tongued, but regardless, whenever she\u2019s on screen, are the best parts of every episode.<\/span><\/p>\n Lange\u2019s performance while covering Lana Del Ray\u2019s\u00a0Gods and Monsters<\/em>\u00a0in the third episode of\u00a0Freak Show<\/em>\u00a0was one of those moments where I came to the realization of how much I loved her as a performer.\u00a0 It was just so hauntingly beautiful, and I loved the fact that she somehow finds this perfect balance of portraying both the character, Elsa Mars, while not allowing Jessica Lange herself be overshadowed.<\/span><\/p>\n Seriously, I loved the hell out of this performance.\u00a0 I ended up purchasing the single off of iTunes not long afterward too, and listened to it on repeat like 25 times while at the gym.\u00a0 I love the hell out of Jessica Lange now.<\/span><\/p>\n It goes without saying she\u2019s my most favorite actress.\u00a0 It\u2019s like Comic-Con lines are about the worst things on the planet, but I\u2019d suffer through a Comic-Con line if it meant that I would get to meet Jessica Lange.\u00a0 I\u2019m not entirely sure I could say anything else that matches that degree, but take my word for it, she\u2019s definitely someone I\u2019d really love to meet if the opportunity presented itself.<\/span><\/p>\n Needless to say, the first season of American Horror Story that doesn\u2019t have Jessica Lange in it may as well be the franchise\u2019s last.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Quite often, I\u2019ll develop these mock crushes on the most random girls seen in media.\u00a0 And more often, I\u2019ll ride them ironically, because I know it makes people roll their eyes, or there\u2019s a sense of amusement in it for me.\u00a0 Like for example Taylor Swift;
