EDIT<\/strong>: The link right below, stated that Dikembe Mutombo Day was\u00a0scheduled<\/em>\u00a0to be on September 2nd. \u00a0Yet for some reason, it just\u00a0spontaneously happened on the 1st<\/a>. \u00a0So, I reconfigured some posts around to properly commemorate Mr. Not In My House and his very honorable day.<\/span><\/p>\n Yeah that’s right motherfuckers, this is 100% legit.\u00a0\u00a0At least it is, here in Atlanta<\/a>.\u00a0 Although if it were up to me, it would be something a little bit more nationally recognized.<\/span><\/p>\n There’s no secret that I’ve always been a huge Dikembe Mutombo fan.\u00a0 And it goes beyond just his basketball career, although I’ve always been a huge fan of how he\u00a0blocked a million shots<\/a>\u00a0throughout his career, most of them followed up with the notorious finger wag and NONONO, the time he had the cojones to\u00a0basically tell Michael Jordan to his face that he couldn’t be dunked on<\/a>\u00a0(although he was promptly proven wrong), he’s a pretty interesting human being as well.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n From his college exploits to where he allegedly waltzed into Georgetown bars and bellowed inquiries about “who wants to sex Mutombo<\/a>” in broken English, the fact that he speaks like fifty different languages, and is basically the biggest long-standing ambassador between the NBA and African culture, holding eternally true to his own roots, building hospitals and shit with his own resources.<\/span><\/p>\n Also,\u00a0his GEICO commercial<\/a>\u00a0is pretty immortal, in this history of advertising.<\/span><\/p>\n I’m just glad to see that Atlanta clearly recognized Dikembe Mutombo as someone worthy of having his own day, despite the fact that only\u00a0a quarter\u00a0<\/em>of his career was spent with the Hawks, and hopefully the rest of the world will get on the ball and do the same, because god damn it, Dikembe Mutombo rules.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" EDIT: The link right below, stated that Dikembe Mutombo Day was\u00a0scheduled\u00a0to be on September 2nd. \u00a0Yet for some reason, it just\u00a0spontaneously happened on the 1st. \u00a0So, I reconfigured some posts around to properly commemorate Mr. Not In My House and his very honorable day.
