Mark Zuckerberg wants to run 365 miles in 2016<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m pretty sure I\u2019ve got sneakers that have seen more miles in shorter spans of time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Granted, I\u2019m not a father of a yellow fever baby, I didn\u2019t invent theFacebook and I\u2019m not a go-zillionaire, but it\u2019s nice to see that Zuck has put himself in a position where pleebs like myself can feel superior.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seriously, 365 miles in the span of 365 days?\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s booty, son<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On average<\/em>, I run like, nine miles a week.\u00a0 Cold, or hot weather.\u00a0 Rain inhibits my desire to run outdoors, but weather permitting, I\u2019m usually hitting at the very least, six miles every single week.<\/span><\/p>\n

Extrapolate this range, and I\u2019m hitting nearly 465 miles a year, 100 better than Zuck\u2019s pedestrian mark.<\/span><\/p>\n

But I am glad to see that he has specified that it has to be 365 miles\u00a0run<\/em>.\u00a0 It\u2019s way too easy to claim 365 miles generally traversed, because Fitbits estimate a mile to be around 1,000 steps, and most people are capable of generating those steps in their sleep.<\/span><\/p>\n

Honestly, it would be interesting to see what the spread would be on if Zuck could accomplish this or not.\u00a0 To me, running a mile a day is weak sauce, because I\u2019m under the impression of who\u00a0couldn\u2019t<\/em>\u00a0spare 10 minutes a day to do some light jogging and clear a mile, much less 20 for two, in order to make-up or compensate for a missed or upcoming day?\u00a0 Then again, I\u2019m also not a parent and\/or a business man, so I don\u2019t know just how much time both of those endeavors sap from daily life.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I\u2019m again, also not ludicrously wealthy, so who\u2019s to say he couldn\u2019t pay someone to manage his affairs or watch his kid, for him to spare a generous 10-minute mile on a regular basis?<\/span><\/p>\n

If I had to guess, I\u2019d say Zuck succeeds.\u00a0 365 miles over 365 days seems like a pretty low bar to meet, and regardless of the challenges of parenthood and the business affairs of a go-zillionaire, I think he manages to clear all 365 miles, even if he has to do some marathons at some points to compensate for a lack of runs in previous or anticipated periods.<\/span><\/p>\n

But I\u2019ll be done with 365 miles by like, August, so it\u2019ll be fun to see a lesser runner trying to wheeze their way to a pedestrian goal.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
