font-size: 12pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/commuting.blog.ajc.com\/2016\/07\/18\/marta-to-test-double-decker-bus\/\">What is this, Great Britain<\/a>?\u00a0 MARTA to test double-decker buses for the summer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">I\u2019ve often had this curiosity with buses.\u00a0 Before the company went kaput, I was intrigued by the idea of riding the <a href=\"https:\/\/c.o0bg.com\/rf\/image_r\/Boston\/2011-2020\/2013\/02\/26\/BostonGlobe.com\/Metro\/Images\/Fung%20Wah-1546119.jpg\">Fung-Wah Bus<\/a>, because you can\u2019t say you\u2019ve really lived life unless it\u2019s been in danger once in a while.\u00a0 When the opportunity to ride a <a href=\"http:\/\/media.nbcchicago.com\/images\/1200*675\/Krishna+Pillai+megabus+pic.jpg\">MegaBus<\/a> presented itself, I remember being quite intrigued and kind of excited, instead of the dread at having to settle for the lowest common denominator to get to Point B, like everyone else\u2019s faces were saying when waiting to board it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">I have never ridden a MARTA bus, once.\u00a0 I don\u2019t really plan on doing so, if I can ever help it.\u00a0 As an Atlanta motorist, MARTA buses are a pestilence on the streets, with their drivers having no regard for other life on the road, and almost live to solely troll other drivers.\u00a0 I very much dislike MARTA buses, and wish to never ride one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">For those who aren\u2019t aware, MegaBuses are double-decker.\u00a0 The first time I rode it, I eagerly clamored up to the upper deck, because I\u2019d never ridden on the <em>second floor<\/em> <em>of a bus<\/em>.\u00a0 When the bus embarked, it turned out that the promised on-board Wi-Fi didn\u2019t work, and neither did the power outlet for my seat.\u00a0 By the time I realized these flaws, it was too late to move, and every single other outlet was already taken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">It\u2019s like I knew what to expect, but it didn\u2019t really sink in just how much it was going to suck.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">The second time I rode MegaBus, it was because there was no other choice, and I was in a very desperate situation where I needed to get to Orlando at a very specific time, and standing by to Orlando is never easy or a sure thing, and I needed a sure thing.\u00a0 This time, I rode with the disgruntled apathy of a grizzled veteran, positioned myself to where I could get on first, took a seat next to the exit, but not before making sure the power outlet worked.\u00a0 I took sleeping pills to knock myself out for the vast majority of the trip and felt immense relief when arriving at my destination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">I have little desire to ever ride MegaBus again, if it can be helped.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">A MARTA double-decker bus just screams something equally negative, like a <em>Breaking Bad <\/em>mobile meth lab or a re-branded prisoner transport truck.\u00a0 If MegaBus is bad, then I can only imagine a MARTA double-decker will have to be doubly bad, given that the riders will be local <em>and<\/em> at the start, from Clayton County, where the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.city-data.com\/crime\/crime-Riverdale-Georgia.html\">worst of the worst<\/a> usually come from.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Allegedly, the bus will travel a different route each week.\u00a0 Considering there are nearly 120 routes, there aren\u2019t enough weeks between now and the end of August for them all to get a little love.\u00a0 Regardless, I really, really, really hope that the double-decker gets on the #2 route.\u00a0 I would bet money that the bus would without question, forget about its height and slam into the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tk-jk.net\/tksguide\/BridgePics\/DSCF0108DruidHillsBridgeEastElev.jpg\">Druid Hills Bridge<\/a>.\u00a0 That would make my year, and this year has dug a pretty big hole already.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is this, Great Britain?\u00a0 MARTA to test double-decker buses for the summer.
