There is a god after all<\/a>: The Chicago Cubs rally in the 9th<\/sup> inning to take the series and eliminate the San Francisco Giants from the playoffs in an even-numbered year<\/span><\/p>\n

I think this might actually be something close to resembling a sign.\u00a0 The Cubs, the franchise most known for curses, hexes, goats and Steve Bartmans, somehow stand strong to defy and overcome one of the worst curses in the modern baseball era: the Giants\u2019 even-year World Series Win Curse<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seriously, if there\u2019s anything my six readers might have picked up on by now is that sometimes I\u2019ll deliberately expend the effort and put down words about things that I pretty much chalk up as WILL happen, solely for nothing but the teasing and testing of the fates, in hopes of proving me wrong.\u00a0 Sure, there\u2019s nothing I like more than being proven right, but for the sake of some things like preventing the Giants from winning yet another World Series, I\u2019ll gladly take one on the chin just to see the city of San Francisco denied.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the Giants won an epic extra-innings affair in Game 3, I thought for certain that the time had come, that the Giants would begin a monumental run that would start with them spurning the Cubs and leaving them for yet another winter of misery, citing curses and superstitious reasons, and the culminating with them toppling the Cleveland Indians in which ESPN would gladly sell as the second-coming of the NBA Finals with a Cleveland vs. Bay Area championship, complete with LeBron James and Stephen Curry showing up to rep their regions, with the Giants coming out on top.<\/span><\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not going to happen.\u00a0 And I\u2019m absolutely stoked by it, because I loathe the Giants, and I\u2019m so happy to see them get bounced from the playoffs, finally.<\/span><\/p>\n

And the David Ross pursuit of a World Series in the way out is still in effect, and frankly, given the remaining teams in contention for the World Series, there\u2019s nobody I\u2019d want to see win more than the Cubs.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
