Last weekend, I drove past a Hardee\u2019s in South Carolina, and I saw on a fairly nondescript roadside sign saying \u201cAPORKALYPSE IS HERE.\u201d\u00a0 The sign was pointing at a Hardee\u2019s, but the name \u201caporkalypse\u201d definitely caught my attention.<\/span><\/p>\n

Was this a rogue franchise making up an item?\u00a0 Or was this something on a broader-scale release?\u00a0 It didn\u2019t matter what, I couldn\u2019t stop repeating the word in my head, and I felt that I had to know.<\/span><\/p>\n

Man, it\u2019s hard to imagine the times in our lives when we all didn\u2019t have smartphones and mobile internet, and couldn\u2019t acquire information at the drop of a hat, wherever we were.\u00a0 Thankfully being out in the sticks of South Carolina wasn\u2019t enough to choke out mobile data and I was able to Google what aporkalypse was, and now I know what I\u2019m going to have for breakfast over this weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

In short<\/a>, it\u2019s either a biscuit or a burrito featuring three types of pork; sausage, ham, bacon.\u00a0 Stuffed into a wrap or a biscuit with two cheese and egg.\u00a0 Sure, it\u2019ll be a million calories and something no human being really should be eating, but this is where the strength of an item is most definitely in the name.<\/span><\/p>\n

If Hardee\u2019s named it something along their usual line of monster-this or monster-that, I wouldn\u2019t have given it a second thought.\u00a0 But to declare it something like \u201caporkalypse,\u201d and it\u2019s got my attention.\u00a0 I say it all the time until I get my hands on one.\u00a0 I want one, in general, which is something I haven\u2019t said about Hardee\u2019s food in nearly a decade, maybe more.\u00a0 I mean, it\u2019s THE <\/em>aporkalypse.<\/span><\/p>\n
