Driving down the highway, it started with what appeared to be a bad storm.\u00a0 Clouds darkened, and wind picked up.\u00a0 But from the safety of inside a car, we soldered down the road to our destination.\u00a0 Slightly above the car hovered a drone with a camera on it, but in the blink of an eye, a powerful gust of wind upended the device, sending it to its untimely demise.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOh shit,\u201d I exclaimed upon seeing it get blown away and inevitably wrecked, because drones are expensive and cameras are expensive and a camera-mounted drone was probably very expensive and costly to replace.\u00a0 Casualties of Mother Nature, and probably not the best idea to have been out in this.<\/span><\/p>\n

Debris in the road, like giant pieces of sheet metal suddenly littered the road, and suddenly driving became a game of Frogger<\/em>, trying to dodge shit strewn about the pavement, but nothing that couldn\u2019t be avoided with moderately decent reflexes and good handling capabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

But then came the abandoned cars, plugging traffic to a standstill.\u00a0 Then there wrecked cars that had caused cars to stop and become abandoned in the first place.\u00a0 And beyond the wrecked cars was the actual wreckage of, everything.\u00a0 The roads collapsed, smoke and fire the only thing visible beyond the initial line of sight.\u00a0 We get out of the car to gawk and marvel over the unreal visual of a wasteland that was once our home.<\/span><\/p>\n

The unnerving calm moment of reflection doesn\u2019t last long before the sight of an airplane falling out of the air encroaches the line of sight.\u00a0 \u201cOh my god\u201d barely has enough time to escape the lips before the inevitable brace for impact of the falling aircraft.\u00a0 And then comes to earth-shaking crash of a multi-ton machine of metal, cargo and human beings, slamming onto the ground with an agonizingly loud crunch and more fire.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before the realization that shit has hit the fan can come to fruition, other things are now falling from the skies.\u00a0 More planes, possibly missiles, but large things left and right, crashing down onto the earth, inevitably destroying everything they slam into.\u00a0 At this point, I realize that the world is coming to an end, and all I feel like I can do is close my eyes, brace for the impending impact of destruction, and hope to wake up.<\/span><\/p>\n

And thankfully, I did.\u00a0 I fell back asleep pretty easily afterward, but damn was that dream vivid and unnerving.\u00a0 I always wonder what it means when we have dreams of the end of the world.\u00a0 It\u2019s not often that I actually remember them beyond minutes after awakening, but it seems like I always tend to remember the ones that involve the world ending.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
