font-size: 12pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wabe.org\/campaign-ad-ga-governor-candidate-brian-kemp-stirs-controversy\/\">Impetus<\/a>: guy who wants to run for governor of Georgia drops campaign video where he\u2019s brandishing a shotgun the whole time, pointing it at a young man who recites his campaign points<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">See, this is the kind of shit that makes me worry for the future of Georgia.\u00a0 I understand that the whole video was meant to be kind of tongue-in-cheek and definitely produced with a sense of humor intended.\u00a0 But surprising to nobody with brains, it falls flat on face and comes off as some gun-crazy hick basically holding a young man hostage and forcing him to read off his generic promises if he\u2019s elected governor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Most educated, liberal, and\/or just people with brains mostly conclude that this was a tasteless campaign commercial, and for all intents and purposes should not help him win the primary.\u00a0 But the problem is that <em>Georgia is filled with a whole lot of people<\/em> who do not fit the aforementioned criteria.\u00a0 These are people who will have thought this commercial was funny, this commercial was memorable, or worse off, completely agree with everything about the commercial \u2013 and then they\u2019ll act on such sticking power, and actually vote for this shithead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">And that has me very scared for the future of this state, if gun-loving hicks like this actually rise to some prominence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Nathan Deal is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but compared to candidates like this, he may as well be FDR during the Great Depression \u2013 a savior to the people who accomplished a tremendous amount in the time he was in office, most recently notably ushering in the movie industry to the state, as well as numerous global businesses to take residence in Georgia.\u00a0 A declared Republican, Deal often saw past the interests of the party in mostly likely the pursuit of money, and has made some astounding liberal choices for the state as a whole, to preserve the continuous influx of outside money to the state, such as overturning blatant anti-gay bills, and hopping aboard the train of attempting to phase out relics of the Confederacy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">I bring this stuff up, because I feel that if a guy like this gun-loving shithead actually succeeds to rising to governor of Georgia, a lot of the successes of Nathan Deal would undoubtedly come to screeching halts.\u00a0 And it\u2019s not just this one example, anyone on the Republican ticket, or even Democratic one, if they\u2019re too far extreme to one direction, then it cannot bode well for the state as a whole one way or the other.\u00a0 But if shotgun shithead somehow wins governor, man, the amount of steps back the entire state of Georgia would go would be catastrophic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">It would be like in <em>Civilization<\/em> when a primitive nation overtakes a more advanced one on sheer manpower alone, the city shots go from paved roads with advanced architecture to immediately dirt paths and granaries and windmills in their place.\u00a0 Religious rights would rise and choke out gays and minorities, the movie industry would get the fuck out, and companies like Porsche and Mercedes would be more than willing to eat the cost to void leases, just to get out of Georgia to prove points.\u00a0 The right would become emboldened, and guns would rise to <a href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/jesus-takes-the-wheel-and-other-american-gods-moments-explained\/\"><em>American Gods<\/em>-like saturation<\/a>, resulting in more gun violence than ever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">The thing is, by all rights, shotgun shithead shouldn\u2019t stand a chance come the primaries.\u00a0 But I would\u2019ve said the same thing back in 2016, but here we stand.\u00a0 In politics, anything is possible, and as long as (part of it) the people as a collective are responsible for choosing leaders, even the worst of humanity can rise to power<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora;
