Long story short<\/a>: City of South Fulton<\/span> Renaissance<\/span> Wakanda<\/span> City of South Fulton\u2019s entire law enforcement division led entirely by African-American women; publicly acknowledged as \u201cblack girl magic\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Yeah, if I were still living in South Fulton county, I\u2019d be happier if the law enforcement arm they weren\u2019t doing photoshoots and were actually doing some work.\u00a0 I\u2019m not entirely sure this is such a great story to break currently, because for those who don\u2019t really follow what\u2019s going down in the City of South Fulton, the whole place is kind of in shambles, infrastructure wise.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fact that they can\u2019t even land on a name for the city goes to show just how disorganized and lacking in structure the whole place is in general, but the law enforcement is a whole other story.\u00a0 Seldom does a day goes by where the front page of the AJC doesn\u2019t have some sort of story that contains the words \u201cshooting,\u201d \u201ckilled,\u201d \u201ccrime,\u201d \u201cSouth Fulton,\u201d or any combination of them on it, because the crime is that out of control down there and continuously getting worse.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s the primary reason why I sold my house and moved away, and not a day goes by whenever I see a crime story emerging from down there, that I\u2019m so glad to have gotten out of there when I did, even if it meant taking a loss on the house and going through a little bit of separation anxiety of parting ways with my first owned home, even if it was in a rapidly deteriorating area.<\/span><\/p>\n

And as I\u2019ve said numerous times, I\u2019m still subscribed to the Nextdoor community online for my old neighborhood, because it\u2019s giving me constant reminders and daily insight to just how much South Fulton is continuing to spiral downward.\u00a0 I can see first-hand from people that still live there just how much they\u2019re frustrated and exasperated with the escalating crime problems down there, and this is exactly why I\u2019m not the least impressed by articles about how South Fulton\u2019s law enforcement is helmed entirely by African-American women.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Publicly acknowledging such in a time where crime rates are completely miserable might not be such a great idea, but I have to ask myself it it\u2019s any surprise that it\u2019s done anyway, because everyone\u2019s a narcissist now, and there\u2019s never any time like the present to capitalize on such a great photograph<\/em> and the message that can be spun behind it, regardless of what the actual facts are, surrounding it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Conversely, if I still lived in South Fulton, and I\u2019m reading about break-ins, shootings, trespassers and other shady shit happening in communities either my own, or the ones around me, on a daily basis, this is where I\u2019m beginning to wonder if it\u2019s because of an all-female run law enforcement department, that crime is so terrible.\u00a0 In all fairness, I\u2019d have the same thought if the entire department were all white men, all Pakistani toddlers, or entirely all of one particular demographic; frankly, I think diversity is essential to having broader perspectives, and I think South Fulton law enforcement is more in love with the idea of having an all-black woman run department, rather than actually doing their fucking jobs of enforcing the law.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seriously, imagine the time and resources that went into taking this god damn photograph that looks more like a press release photograph for a show on the Lifetime Network or BET.\u00a0 You know the shoot took more than an hour and most certainly wasn\u2019t free.\u00a0 And this is all time in which any one of these women could have been at their desks, on phones, or doing ANY sort of work, instead of posing for PR photos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the residents of South Fulton are fed up with the escalating crime, and the deaf ears in which their complaints and concerns are falling on, and some have literally been discussing the mass boycotting of South Fulton and Union City businesses, which likely won\u2019t really make that much of a difference versus those who just want close convenience, but the general happiness and morale of the residents down there are most certainly not particularly green.<\/span><\/p>\n

How about using some of this black girl magic to magically make some of all that crime disappear or something other than having photoshoots?\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
