{"id":46653,"date":"2019-08-22T16:33:28","date_gmt":"2019-08-22T20:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=46653"},"modified":"2020-08-11T16:34:58","modified_gmt":"2020-08-11T20:34:58","slug":"double-standards-sure-are-funny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=46653","title":{"rendered":"Double standards sure are funny"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-image alignnone wp-image-46654 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/black_gurl_brunch.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/black_gurl_brunch.jpg 510w, https:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/black_gurl_brunch-300x162.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/blog\/atlanta-restaurants\/reality-stars-open-black-gurl-lunch-club-college-park\/jXzFLC2ldK9pIjen9nk7IN\/\">Came across this article<\/a> about a restaurant opening up; named \u201cBlack Gurl Brunch Club.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Pretty sure if any other demographic attempted to utilize a similar hierarchy, there would be some heads rolling.\u00a0 White Guy Steakhouse, Latinas Tacos and Empanadas, Korean Guy Soju Shack and Bollywood Girl Street Food would probably wrinkle some eyebrows and ruffle a few feathers, if people from those respective demographics attempted to open businesses with such ludicrous names.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Despite the restaurant\u2019s claim that the restaurant is \u201cfor everyone:\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Though Black Gurl Brunch Club\u2019s name highlights a specific demographic group, Lavender said the restaurant itself is meant for everyone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cThe majority of our fan base is black women,\u201d she said. \u201cSo we wanted to be appreciative of that. Young black women are alienated a lot, so we wanted them to feel comfortable here. But the restaurant is about everyone coming together to celebrate each other.
