{"id":46677,"date":"2019-09-05T22:37:38","date_gmt":"2019-09-06T02:37:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=46677"},"modified":"2020-08-11T22:37:48","modified_gmt":"2020-08-12T02:37:48","slug":"mindhunter-is-a-damn-good-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=46677","title":{"rendered":"Mindhunter is a damn good show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-image alignnone wp-image-46678 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/mindhunter.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/mindhunter.jpg 510w, https:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/mindhunter-300x156.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Over the last two weeks, I\u2019ve watched all of <em>Mindhunter<\/em> on Netflix.\u00a0 That\u2019s as pretty close to binge watching from me as things are going to get these days, as by the fifth hour of anything, I\u2019m usually apt to passing out in my recliner, no matter how good of a show it is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">But after watching both seasons of Mindhunter, I have to say that it\u2019s a pretty excellent show from beginning to end.\u00a0 Often times, I feel that shows tend to start too slowly, and as I get into a show by the midway point, I have one of those revelation moments involving something seen at the start of the first episode that I might have to go re-watch to remember.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">That wasn\u2019t the case with Mindhunter, which starts off with a metaphorical and literal bang, and establishes characters quickly and begins their development immediately, that it\u2019s easy to become interested right away.\u00a0 And it\u2019s the characters that I think are the strength of the show as a whole, because there are three core characters, and it\u2019s really easy to become fairly interested in all of them, whether it\u2019s collectively as the Behavioral Sciences Unit, or their own personal lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Typically, whenever I watch just about anything, I have a tendency to dick around on my phone when I begin to feel restless.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter if it a movie, a subtitled show, wrestling or sports, my mind eventually begins wandering at some point, and then I do shit like play Fire Emblem Heroes or actually look at Facebook, and only partially pay attention to what\u2019s on the screen.\u00a0 Occasionally, it backfires on me, and I\u2019ll need to rewind to catch something important or a cool wrestling move or a sports play or a subtitle that I didn\u2019t comprehend verbally, and I\u2019ll actually have to backtrack to actually make myself pay attention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">But with Mindhunter, none of that tomfoolery came into play, because the show is written so well, the characters are so compelling, and the visuals are all so engrossing, that I can\u2019t even find the opportunities to multitask, even if I wanted to.\u00a0 It\u2019s been a long time that there\u2019s been a show with a continuously ongoing plot that has been able to capture me so hard to where I\u2019m pretty much eyes glued from opening credits to end credits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lora; font-size: 12pt;\">Ultimately, Mindhunter was a great show, and I highly recommend it to anyone remotely interested in psychology, crime stories, and scarily enough, delving into mostly real-life serial killers.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the last two weeks, I\u2019ve watched all of Mindhunter on Netflix.\u00a0 That\u2019s as pretty close to binge watching from me as things are going to get these days, as by the fifth hour of anything, I\u2019m usually apt to passing out in my recliner, no matter how good of a show it is.
