TIL<\/a>: The Greenbriar Mall Chick fil-A was the first-ever Chick fil-A opened, in 1967.\u00a0 But it\u2019s closing for good now<\/span><\/p>\n

I did know that a large part of the original expansion for Chick fil-A\u2019s strategy was to get themselves into mall food courts, like they did at Greenbriar Mall.\u00a0 I remember the first time I ever encountered a Chick fil-A, it was at Landmark Mall in Alexandria, Virginia and like most kids embarking on a journey towards childhood obesity, the main standout was the fact that they had waffle fries.<\/span><\/p>\n

But it\u2019s interesting to learn that the very first Chick fil-A that was opened was in Greenbriar Mall, and it\u2019s even more fascinating to know how it has managed to survived throughout the passage of time, because the passage of time hasn\u2019t been particularly kind to Greenbriar Mall.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since I\u2019ve lived in Georgia, Greenbriar Mall hasn\u2019t exactly been known for the best of things, and off the top of my head the greatest (read: not greatest) hits are:<\/span><\/p>\n
