{"id":51046,"date":"2026-01-29T21:19:30","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T02:19:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=51046"},"modified":"2026-01-30T21:19:34","modified_gmt":"2026-01-31T02:19:34","slug":"suck-it-frogs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/totfc.net\/?p=51046","title":{"rendered":"Suck it, Frogs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-image alignnone wp-image-51047 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/korean_bakers.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/korean_bakers.jpg 560w, https:\/\/totfc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/korean_bakers-300x162.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pasticceriainternazionale.com\/south-korea-wins-the-13th-edition-of-the-bakery-world-cup\/\">Pasticceria Internazionale<\/a>: Korea wins the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie, defeating France<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">A long time ago, my dad told me that if you train a Korean in something, they are more than capable of becoming the best in the world at it.\u00a0 Okay, maybe it wasn\u2019t in such phrasing, but he basically did tell me that Koreans are basically good at everything they put their minds and hearts into, and such a notion was proven correct as Koreans won the Baking World Cup in France, defeating not just the French, but also Taiwan, whom placed third and second behind them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Honestly, it really isn\u2019t that much of a surprise, considering the general nature of Koreans is that they\u2019re very detail oriented and more than competent when it comes to intricate processes like machinery, or baking.\u00a0 And as far as my experiences in America as well as Korea are concerned, if you see a bakery with a name that\u2019s remotely French, there\u2019s a very high chance that it\u2019s being operated by Koreans.\u00a0 They\u2019ve taken to French Baking like a fish to water, and all you have to do is watch any episode of <em>Culinary Class Wars<\/em> to see just how many Koreans are adept at French cuisine in general.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">With the win, Korea joins the United States and Japan as the only countries to now have multiple Baking World Cup wins, since the whole competition was started 24 years ago.\u00a0 It\u2019s funny how it was started obviously by the French, and they\u2019ve basically already been outclassed by everyone else in an arena that they basically invented.\u00a0 Then again, the United States has only won one World Baseball Classic, and Team USA basketball now requires Herculean performances in order to stop getting pwned by the rest of the world in hoops.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Koreans can\u2019t seem to win at anything on their home soil, except for the occasional <em>League of Legends<\/em> Worlds, and if the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie were to be held in Seoul, they would undoubtedly not place.\u00a0 But I can kind of get it, as far as competition goes, I\u2019ve personally always felt more at ease when I\u2019m the one on the road, and not feeling any sort of hometown pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Regardless, I\u2019m tickled to even learn that something like the Baking World Cup was even a thing, but I never want to any time Koreans flex their dominance against the rest of the world in any way, shape or form.\u00a0 Of course Korea are the best bakers in the world, even better than the Frogs that invented the arena.\u00a0 It\u2019s like that <em>SNL<\/em> skit where fake Celine Dion keeps hijacking other singers\u2019 songs and proclaiming to be better than them at their own songs, except Korea dominating France very much happened.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pasticceria Internazionale: Korea wins the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie, defeating France A long time ago, my dad told me that if you train a Korean in something, they are more than capable of becoming the best in the world at it.\u00a0 Okay, maybe it wasn\u2019t in such phrasing, but he basically did tell &hellip;
