Was the Clock King really a villain?

It makes me happy when things go the way they are supposed to, when things run smoothly.

This statement implies that the vast majority of times, things are not going the way they are supposed to, and that things are not always running smoothly, because I am not happy on a more regular basis.

Case in point: just the other night, I had a sequence of tasks planned: stop at Goodwill and drop off donation bags, eat BBQ, clean house.  Simple enough.  I get to Goodwill well within business hours, but the doors are locked and there’s a handwritten note on the door saying “BACK IN 15 MIN” as if it were a fucking lemonade stand.  I didn’t even wait 15 seconds before I left, feeling disgusted at the simple fact that there were people so incapable of doing their menial job, that they had to close shop temporarily.  As a result of this component not going the way it was supposed to go, the remainder of my tasks had to be altered somewhat, and my agenda post-errands were delayed by 15 minutes.

15 minutes doesn’t sound like a whole lot of time, but I fucking treasure my time.  That was 15 minutes I could have spent getting ahead of schedule, so that I could have more time for myself later on.  15 minutes of extra sleep in the morning goes a long way throughout the course of a day.

A vampire.

When I’m at work, the workload over the summer has been feast or famine.  I won’t get into the bickering inner-workings of the employee pool here, but the fact of the matter is that there are times in which I have an egregious amount of downtime, in which I’m left with absolutely nothing to do.  I can only peruse the same blogs and websites over and over again before the wells dry up, and before I know it, my mind is going crazy, and my eyes are ready to fall out from lack of stimulation.

So lately, I’ve been scouring Wikipedia, randomly clicking links, to see where the olive branches take me next; yeah, it really can get that bad.  I got onto comic books, and I realized that Wikipedia is a wonderful resource at catching up with storylines, and filling in some broad gaps at what’s happened to which characters throughout the years in which I lose track of comic books.

He’s not dead he’s just resting GI JOEEEEE

I heard on the radio this morning that Spider-Man was getting killed in the comic books.  Admittedly, it was a bit surprising, since Spider-Man is on that echelon of comic book characters that transcends just the fans of comic books, but reaches out to so many forms of alternative media.  Spider-Man is more than just a comic book character; he is an icon, a symbol, and a bastion of history.  So to hear that he was getting killed, really got my attention.

But then I had to go and ruin everything, and find out those silly “details” that clarify everything, and in this instance, kind of remove all the suspense and drama out of the equation.  There is a chance I might slip up my writing and spoil something, so if you genuinely care, don’t continue to read.
