Can’t say I have high hopes for Fuller House

TL:DR: Netflix secures rights to spin-off of Full House, aptly called Fuller House.

The nostalgia nerd in me admits that I watched way more Full House than I really should admit to.  I mean seriously, I’ve probably seen every single episode of the show.  From DJ’s crash dieting, Uncle Jessie’s extended Greek family visiting so that both Olsen twins could be on screen at the same time, to the heart-wrenching breakup between Danny Tanner and Vicky, the woman who replaced Aunt Becky on Wake Up! San Francisco, I’m pretty sure I’ve actually seen them all.

Now the thought of making a spin-off of Full House, by basically taking the existing show characters, in current time, and basically reenacting the entire show all over again with some clever role modifications, sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Breaking Bad talk

Being the bastion of keeping up with current trends and things people are crazy about, I’ve finally watched my way through all of Breaking Bad.

It goes without saying that I will be discussing some things that might be perceived to be spoilers, but I will keep those behind a jump, because I understand that there are plenty of people like me that seldom watch television live, and prefer to watch things in chunks and marathons, even if it means seeing them long after they’re current.

As a whole, the series was in fact, great. A grand wealth of character development, clever and intelligent writing, plot twists that aren’t blatantly obvious, and a general respect for the viewers’ intelligence with how things are presented, and are not always spelled out to be easily predicted.

One of greatest things in recent internet history

Dinosaurs mashed up with Biggie Smalls’ Hypnotize. This Benjamin Roberts guy is clearly on a mission to do god’s work here.

Life is, for lack of a better term, kind of boring lately, and I’m having a hard time coming up with things to write about. The city I live in isn’t really doing anything that’s inspiring me to write more, and I’m not coming across enough news or happenings that’s making any synapses flare and pop and turn into words that I can post to my brog. But in light of not wanting to have nothing at all to post, I guess I can go a little fluffy and share something that’s brought a smile to my face.

Truly epic

I hate to share something that pretty much everyone on the planet is sharing today, but god damn, was I ever a huge Saved by the Bell fan, and this skit on the Jimmy Fallon Show was nothing short of genuinely, truly epic.

My knee-jerk reaction was something that my friend Rory pointed out, which was the obvious observation that both Elizabeth Berkley and Mario Lopez have basically taken the same voodoo immortality potion that Angela Bassett had, because neither of them have aged a single day from the last time they played Jessie Spano and A.C. Slater.

On the other end of the spectrum, god damn, did Dennis Haskins let himself go. He’s quite literally doubled in size from the last time he was Mr. Belding, and it’s rather alarming to see that no matter how authoritative a suit is supposed to look, there’s just so much of it.

The perils of watching Breaking Bad

I started watching Breaking Bad.  Yes, I’m like five years behind the curve on this one, but anyone that knows me knows that that’s usually the case; I mean, I just started reading Game of Thrones too, and that’s about as equally behind the curve as far as current trends are concerned.

Either way, I like Breaking Bad, as I knew I would once I actually started to watch it.

But man, is it sometimes a dangerous show to watch, for anyone who may or may not get tendencies to grow disenchanted with their own jobs.

90 Day Humiliation

Okay, last post about TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé (at least for this season).

Recently, we the lovers of trainwreck television were given the very last episode of 90 Day Fiancé’s second season, which was more or less of a reunion show of the subjects of the season. Typically, I’m not necessarily a fan of this kind of format, since I have a tendency to believe that it leads to a lot of fluff, doesn’t really answer a whole lot of questions, and typically leaves things more in question than before it even aired.

I can’t say that this was any different than any of the reunion shows of any programming prior to this, but I couldn’t help watching it, since I was really eager to find out more information regarding the clear-cut aces of show in Danielle and Mohamed. Naturally, the host of the show was about as aware of how polarizing they are, as they alone commanded entire segments of the show at times, and were almost always last to be addressed in inquiries. But also naturally, the time constraints of the show meant that they couldn’t be given too much time, and after the hour-long program was over, there were lots of unanswered questions, more question marks, and no clear-cut speculation to what lies in their future.
