It must be the weather . . .

…which by the way is absolutely gorgeous today.  But really, it must be the weather, because I saw a few things that I didn’t think possible.

I was walking the dog after I got home from work, because with weather like this, I couldn’t not do something outside.  So I’m around the Zombieland gazebo, and a car passes me, and pulls into the driveway, and emerging from the car is a white woman, whom obviously lives in that house, based on the way pulled in to the driveway like she owned the place.  Confused, I still do not forget to smile and nod in acknowledgment, and continue walking.

Then all of a sudden, jogging right past me is a nubile, young white girl, and our eyes meet for a moment and I’m sure I had the same puzzled look on my face as she did, at the sudden realization that there are indeed other ethnicities in Zombieland.

It’s gotta be the weather.

Rebecca Chambers gets Straight A’s

Now this is netbook territory – brogging from inside of a Cuban restaurant while munching on a tasty Cubano.

One of the benefits of the latest Resident Evil 5 updates was the mini game known as Mercenaries: Reunion.  It’s all the same levels as in the regular Mercenaries, but this time, they’ve added several new character.  Funny that they should call it “Reunion” though, since out of the eight playable characters, only two are truly “being reunited,” coming from an earlier RE game.

A game that lives up to its title

A gripe I had about not working was the simple fact that my weekends had lost meaning, since they were just like every other day in which I wasn’t working.  This past week, I finagled out four solid working days, and a good bit of hours to alleviate the grind, so suffice to say, my weekend had some meaning again, especially since I’m slated to work the next day or two starting tomorrow.  So what do I do all weekend?  Aside from watching Alice in Wonderland, pretty much absolutely nothing, but play XBOX all weekend long.  But most importantly, it was going through the second of the two Resident Evil 5 downloadable missions, Desperate Escape. And for once, we have a game that lives up to its title.

The Alice in Wonderland post

To be perfectly honest, I went into the Disney rendition of Alice in Wonderland with really low expectations.  I walked out of the theater feeling that my expectations were exceeded, and most importantly, I felt more positive about this movie than I did walking out of Shutter Island.

I thought that Johnny Depp would usurp too much focus from the actual storyline, and essentially weaken it, and not to say that such did not occur, but not to the intensity of where I felt that the flick should’ve been called Johnny Depp in Wonderland instead.

No, instead I found it to be well-acted, and visually stimulating, and yet, not so gloomy of an atmosphere as Tim Burton films tend to get, but then again, the place is called Wonderland.  And in the end, I left the theater feeling alright, not at all feeling disappointed and/or ripped off.

HUGE KIDS SALE

It’s a pretty crappy cell phone camera picture here, but the headline of the yellow sign reads “HUGE KIDS SALE.”

The first thing that pops in to my head is that this weekend, someone is selling huge, large, obese children.  So if you live anywhere near Emory or North Atlanta, near the Cheshire Bridge area, you can buy some huge kids this weekend.
