Good thoughts about She’s Out of My League

I knew that I was going to see this movie when I first saw the preview, and learned about the basic premise.  Not just for the simple fact that it looked like it was going to be a funny flick, but that dorks like me would be able to somewhat relate to the premise, and if there’s one thing that makes a story enjoyable is some degree of realism.  She’s Out of My League was everything I had hoped for, and I can say without any hesitation that I loved it.  It’s not going to be winning any Oscars any time soon, but fuck that- I had a smile on my face all the way to the ending credits.

I thought that Johnny Depp would usurp too much focus from the actual storyline, and essentially weaken it, and not to say that such did not occur, but not to the intensity of where I felt that the flick should’ve been called Johnny Depp in Wonderland instead.

No, instead I found it to be well-acted, and visually stimulating, and yet, not so gloomy of an atmosphere as Tim Burton films tend to get, but then again, the place is called Wonderland.  And in the end, I left the theater feeling alright, not at all feeling disappointed and/or ripped off.

Martin Scorsese’s epic LARP

Now this is what netbooks are for.  Brogging from within a Caribou Coffee, amongst the throngs of other look-at-me secret people watchers all brandishing their own laptops and book selections, hoping that other people are glancing at them out of the corners of their eyes.  Since the prospective chance that the book I brought is more entertaining then the internet, I’ll keep it short this morning, since I am on a ticking clock until Jen’s hair is done.

Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island thoughts, in ten seconds:
