But I hope to soon promise that in the end, it won’t.
I’m actually playing the dress-up game again for a night at this year’s Dragon-Con. Okay, yeah I did Safari Chris last year, but that was something I already had. I’m actually putting forth some effort this year in making something, so I can join my friends this year instead of standing on the sidelines. This is the current status of the gun I’m making for a Graves costume, to take part in a League of Legends grouping. Like every character I’ve ever dressed up as, I do in fact have an attachment to the character, as he’s my primary choice when I play LoL.
Anyway, I have to admit, it kind of feels good to actually be making something with my hands again, after such a long time. I have a pretty nasty blister forming on my right index finger, but it’s from discovering an efficient way to bore holes into this insulation foam, which was gratifying when I was capable of knocking out more progress than I had anticipated for the day.
Additionally, I’ve dropped some money on various components for the outfit itself, and I’m actually looking forward to receiving a small parade of parcels in coming days and weeks. I can’t say I’d exert such effort for any other occasion except Dragon-Con and maybe Halloween, and I don’t expect this to be the return of any particular olden times, but for at least for now, I’m looking forward to a convention and donning a costume and hanging out with my friends.
