Ranking the women of Resident Evil

I’d been tossing the idea for this post in my head for a little while, but I wanted to actually play through all of Resident Evil 6 before doing so. I don’t base my opinions on simply just appearance, although it does probably play a good part of it; but I also like to learn a little bit about the characters themselves, and see what kind of characters they are, and whether or not their personas, attitudes and actions are annoying or not.

That being said, I do fancy myself as a very well versed fan of the Resident Evil series in general. I’ve played just about every single one of the canon games, so I’d like to think I know what I’m talking about, but ultimately in the end, it’s still a personal opinion list, and of course, it’s objectifying women, but I don’t deny that I’ve been known to make some tasteless chauvinistic remarks before, so it’s not like it should be a surprise to anyone.

Anyway, without further ado, from worst to best, I rank the womens of Resident Evil. Also word of caution, I may give up some spoilers here and there if you, or I, am not careful with how I write this.

Does high school anonymity exist anymore?

I was listening to the 2012 Best of the Howard Stern show, and there was a segment about a kid who put out a video on YouTube that sort of went viral earlier in the year, about how he would jack off to the Facebook pictures of all the girls he knew.  Because clearly all the girls that bothered to friend him had, or had their privacy settings set to where he could creep to the slutty pictures that all teenage girls seem incapable of not uploading.  It’s a catchy tune to be honest, and the lyrics are funny, but yeah in the end, the underlying message is still pretty creepy.

When the Stern Show managed to get the kid on the air, it turns out that he’s some dumb teenage black weeaboo into anime, has no friends, and is more or less completely oblivious to the fact that he’s 17 with no inkling of idea what he’s going to do with his future, and absolutely no preparation for what the adult world is going to be like when it comes crashing down on him when he’s done with high school.  And no genuine understanding of that something like this video is never going to be fully erased from the internet no matter if he takes it down or not, and that if the right (or wrong) people find it, it could seriously jeopardize his future prospects in so many varying ways.

Ryback = Goldberg Type-R

I don’t hide the fact that I have no love for the wrestler Ryback, because quite frankly I am incapable of seeing him as nothing but a bastardized mish-mash of several other wrestlers from the past.  The obvious parallel is the fact that he’s a Goldberg rip, due to the fact that he’s white, bald, jacked up and does nothing but high-impact power moves while displaying very little actual wrestling talent.

He’s also part Rhyno, due to the ring attire that almost looks as if Ryback went to a Rhyno garage sale, bought all of his old ring gear and just had all instances of “Rhyno” airbrushed out and replaced to say “Ryback.”  And like Rhyno, Ryback uses nothing but brute strength and power moves.

But last night, Ryback copied else that I felt was inappropriate, and in my distorted reality, crossing the line.  I’m not sure what prompted Ryback to even get on the microphone in the first place, as he has the speaking eloquence of Corky from Life Goes On, but he decided to try and blurble out some words to the sheep that somehow cheer his every action.  But then he said the words “Enough is enough, and it’s time for a change.”  That’s what agitated me, and prompted me to write out my displeasure at this no-talent oaf chewing up television time.

Adobe software is a lot like cars

When Adobe released the CS6 Suite, maybe one entire year after they had just released CS5, I didn’t have high expectations for it, the moment I saw that they had redesigned the software down from the splash graphics to the software’s workspaces.

Recently, I ran into a problem in InDesign CS6, where I couldn’t get a particular file to print, or export to PDF.  Upon attempting to initiate either task, the program would crash.  It was related to a problem in the file itself, as troubleshooting with blank new documents or other projects did not replicate the problem.  After about 20 minutes of frustrating unsuccessful troubleshooting, I realized that I had still not uninstalled CS5.  I saved my problematic file out as an IDML legacy file, and opened it up in InDesign CS5.

It printed without any complications.
It PDF’d without any hesitation.

In conclusion, it didn’t work in CS6, because CS6 is fucking retarded.  I thought about it for a second and chastised myself, because honestly, this was, and shouldn’t ever have been, much of a surprise.

I think I’d rather be dead than have frightening B.O.

Rotting taco meat.

That’s probably the best description of the smell emanating from the guy next to me on the stair master machine.  It was kind of unbelievable, because I can’t say that I’ve ever smelled that kind of funk from any human being in my entire life.  It was like the myth of sweating what you eat was actually coming true from this guy or something.

All I know is that it was making me sick to my stomach, and that it turned my stair climbing session into the worst 25 minutes of my entire life.  I seriously can’t fathom how such an odor can come from an actual person.

Mass Effect romances, explained by Saved by the Bell

Throughout playing the Mass Effect series, one of the more intriguing side objectives is pursuing a relationship. Each of the three games gives you choices for your Commander Shepards to pursue, and depending on if you import your data from one game to the other, it mildly alters the relationship paths, based on your choices from ME1 to ME2 to ME3. Which is one of the only things you really can alter, to say the least. Oops; did I write that out loud?

Anyway, with the number of possible relationships available throughout the series, it got me thinking. Which is never a good thing, because then we end up with the conclusion that Commander Shepard is pretty much the futuristic Zack Morris of the galaxy. And that all possible relationships throughout the Mass Effect series, are easily relatable to all of the girls that Zack Morris was involved with at some point throughout the entire Saved by the Bell series.

Naturally, since I’ve only played as the male Shepard, we’re only going to go through his potential conquests. Suffice to say, these are probably classified as spoilers if you haven’t played through all three games yet.

The sad modernization of Family Feud

Steve Harvey is a pretty funny guy.  I haven’t heard much of his actual standup, but from what I have heard, he’s pretty good.  Good enough to where he’s a pretty familiar name to most people these days.  But quite frankly, not even he can really save what has become of the once popular game show, Family Feud.

I used to love Family Feud, back in the day it was hosted by Richard Dawson.  My parents speak very little English, but even they enjoyed watching Family Feud.  I have a lot of fond memories actually watching Family Feud together with my parents and sister, like a real, stereotypical family.  The questions were basic and general, and just about anyone watching at home could have a fighting chance if they were remotely third-grade educated, or had been simply living for a while.

When I have lunchtime workouts, I’m running on the treadmill at right around the time when today’s Steve Harvey Family Feud reruns are running on what used to be TBS.  I used to watch ESPN, but for a channel that’s supposed to cover all sports, they can’t seem to not stop talking about NFL, NCAA football, golf, or NBA.  It’s almost as if they’re resentful that MLB has their own network, just like the NFL and NBA has, and does whatever they can to Rosa Parks the shit out of baseball coverage.  Needless to say, Steve Harvey Family Feud episodes are a lesser evil, and I’ve been watching them for a few weeks now, prompting me to finally post something about how much it sucks and how wrong it is these days.
