The Nazis are coming, the Nazis are coming! On April 21, 2018, the National Socialist Movement is holding a rally in Newnan, Georgia.
Oh goody.
Ironically, I’m long past being shocked and appalled by news like this. It was more of a surprise that it’s kind of taken this long for a white supremacist rally to happen in Georgia that’s become somewhat nationally known. Despite the fact that Atlanta is pretty blue and predominantly black populated, there’s no denying that the further one gets outside of the perimeter, the redder and more white redneck the rest of the state becomes.
The biggest takeaway I get from the news of white supremacists converging on Georgia right around my birthday is the location in which they chose to conglomerate at, Newnan. It’s almost laughable just how cowardly and spineless this gathering is, taking place in Newnan, instead of anywhere remotely closer to Atlanta, where the chances of liberal and/or minority intervention go up exponentially.
It’s pretty much identical to Charlottesville, because really Newnan is a lot like Charlottesville. It lacks a major college and is subsequently smaller than C’ville, but it’s a predominantly white town surrounded by the country, but still close enough to a major market to draw attention. Newnan is nearly 30 miles by highway away from the first bastion of a Metro Atlanta county, and nearly another 30 to really get into the city proper, much like Charlottesville is about comparable distance to get to Richmond, Virginia, a vastly more liberal and diverse populous.
Because there’s little doubt that most white supremacists are at an individual level, mostly a bunch of pussies, who draw their strength and courage from numbers and not from personal tenacity. But even white supremacists, as bold as they think their messages are, aren’t foolish enough to hold their little rallies and gatherings in areas that would undoubtedly draw opposing attention and/or intervention, and when the day is over, these shitfucks don’t want to get their asses kicked or potentially killed, when they try to spread their messages of bigotry and hatred.
Picking Newnan to gather is basically the equivalent of anonymously talking shit on the internet. They couldn’t be any further from the people they’re trying to deliberately antagonize, but far be it for them to collectively realize such, because no one person is as dumb as a collective, and it’s even dumber coming from a gathering of mostly yokel redneck bigots. Yet still they’ll try, but because everyone knows they’re coming, they’re either going to meet opposition in the form of whatever groups, or if the article has any gas behind it, then everyone in Newnan is just going to fucking dude bail from the area in which they’re going to gather, and let them scream to nobody but themselves while the locals all take a day away from home to avoid them.
The bottom line is that white supremacists are pussies. If they had any cojones, they’d have picked a place like College Park or the West End to gather, instead of lily-white and insulated Newnan. Without question, there would be fatalities, but damn would that be the kind of impact that both the left and the right would probably be hoping to get to see if people will finally wake up and stop being so shitty.
