Hank Conger

If I told you that about this baseball player named “Hank Conger,” most people would get the image in their head of a white guy.  Probably a sleepy-eyed Texan, closely associated with Hank Hill, from King of the Hill, since come on, just how many people out there really are named “Hank” anyway?

Well, pictured above is the real Hank Conger, a catcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Orange County, California.  Not what you were expecting, huh?

This road to recovery was built in Korea

This is my new car.  A Kia Forte 5-Door.

At my absolute wit’s end, I finally decided to cut my losses, and ditch the lemon.  I had an elaborate plan with a minimal window of time to accomplish it, and in a perfect world it would have gone completely as planned, but since we don’t live in a perfect world, this would have to do.  The bottom line is that I have successfully unloaded the fucking lemon, I don’t drive it anymore, and no longer will it give me stress about how much it mechanically sucks, or what no-longer produced parts need to be replaced.

I’m ecstatic that I have a brand new car, that theoretically, I will not really have to worry about (knock on wood) for a little bit, but I’m actually simply more relieved that I just don’t have the lemon anymore.

Random thoughts

~Wordpress app does not appear to have bulleted list option.
~The place I’m working at now, where I park my car is directly across the street from the Cheetah, which is like the “classiest” (read: best) strip club in the city of Atlanta.
~Some bathrooms, are just so suitable to just play Angry Birds for good chunks of time.
~The work I’m doing is boring as fuck, but the pay is great. I’m not really complaining.
~There are a noticeable amount of Koreans around here, from the deli I went to yesterday and an actual Korean colleague in my remote department. It’s kind of an alien feeling to me, to be perfectly honest.
~I’m also the youngest person in this office, I’m pretty sure. I haven’t been the youngest designer in any place for a few years, and I have to admit this too is also an odd feeling for me again. There simply aren’t really any cool people here, as nice as everyone else seems to be.

All the right moves

In Inception, there is a car chase scene.  This does not spoil anything at all.  But the most interesting thing about the chase scene as a whole is that the protagonist vehicle is none other than a Hyundai Genesis.  Yeah, a Hyundai.  A Hyundai. It’s not really news, the growth of the once-little Korean car maker, but it’s moments like this that really make me realize of just how big they’ve grown, and that they’re playing in the big leagues now.
